The internal dialogue of one who writes from home

Me: Hey, see that laundry pile over there?

Me: Yeah, what about it?
Me: You could wash it today. Maybe even dry and fold.

Me: Why would I want to do that?
Me: Because all of your assignments are complete and invoiced and therefore you can do laundry. And your family needs clean clothes.

Me: I meant besides those reasons.

You’ve got it backwards. The laundry only speaks when you have assignments due. And you desperately want to wash, dry and fold — anything in the name of procrastination.

You’re so right Charmian! But like you said, that’s when you actually *want to do the laundry. :)
