Corny Cliché Saturday
Thanks to Plaidearthworm for the cliché of the day. In the comments over at Mama Needs A Book Contract, she rewrote the famous cliché “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.”
Her version?
A tool in the hand is worth two on EBay.
(There’s a joke in there that I’m not even going to make. Whether it was intentional or unintentional is hard to tell - Plaid is one funny squiggler.)
Now here’s my take:
A pink hammer is worth twenty in your contractor-husband’s van.
I keep threatening to get a whole matching set of pink tools, just so I can have some at the house when I need them.
[In searching online I found Tomboy Tools, a Canadian company that sells pink tools. Though I have no experience with them, they're listed as a partner on the Susan G. Komen website and say they donate a portion of the sales the pink hammer and the pink Tomboy Traveler to the foundation to support breast cancer research. Uh, they do have other colors, but that would defeat the purpose for me.]
