I don't have an SLR either. You might be limited on some of the homework assignments, but I've found so far that after reading up a bit on my camera, I can do them. There's no reason you couldn't just read through the assignments and try a few things if you'd like. If it doesn't work for you, there's no reason you can't drop it. But I've learned a lot. The sculpture itself captures what so many of us know deep within our bones, our hearts and souls and the art historian in me is making an immediate compare and contrast to Michaelangelo's Pieta and the meanings behind it.
